Frequently Asked Questions

When can I take you up on the 10-1 challenge?

Just about anytime, my schedule is surprisingly flexible.

What do you do for living?

What does it look like? I'm a professional athlete.

The only reason you're so good is because you don't go to work and can play all the time.

First of all that's not a question. Second of all I don't see college students working 9-5 either but I'm still better than all of them too. Quit making excuses!

How are you so great?

I'm not certain.

I heard you weren't that good in college, what's up with that?

That's actually true. I didn't start taking the game seriously until late my senior year.

Why do you play the same bums over and over?

One could make a strong argument I don't always play the best, that's why I launched CTC.

Can you afford to lose a thousand dollars?

Of course, I'm a professional athlete I already told you that. I can't afford to lose many thousands though, so if you've got a game make your challenge now.

How do I know you'll pay up if I win?

I've been betting on everything for three years and have never once failed to pay up. I have many references. Drop me an email and we'll make sure you're totally comfortable I'm good for it before you make the trip.

Have you ever thrown a perfect game?

Of course I have. October 23, 2005 vs. Jon "The Truth" Davis.

What's the best way to get in your head?

Lull me to sleep by downplaying your ability. Tell me you're not much of a player. Also, spend lots of time lavishing praise on my game, that tends to make me struggle. Do not under any circumstances talk trash or exude a hint of confidence.

How's your two on two game?

It's become quite strong over the summer. My two on two individual match record is probably better than my one on one and I've had quite a cast of teammates. I didn't use to take two on two seriously but that's all changed.

Do you subscribe to the naked run rule?

For those of you who don't know that refers to a mandatory shameful naked run for a team unable to break down to four cups before getting beat, and the answer is no. First of all it's for Brothers Nights only, second of all I think the rule has become obsolete for this generation of players. In the old days players weren't very good so they could rarely close a game out before their opponents had broken down, that's all changed now and the result would be way too much nakedness were the rule still in effect.

Do you honestly think you're the best?

Sometimes I figure there has to be someone better out there. Other times I when I wake up in the morning and step behind that rectangle, I truly believe it's the one place I'll always have everything go my way.

I heard you don't drink all your beer.

That's a bunch of garbage. Sometimes it takes me a little longer because my body can't burp and my stomach is full from the 10 games of one on one I just finished playing but I drink more than my share. I think people marginalize the game when they emphasize the drinking aspect so heavily. I'll gladly accept challenges from sober players.

Why is Beirut so hard to spell?

I don't know, but it really is. Between all the different spellings and many people calling it beer pong it's no wonder the game can't get a foothold on the internet. No two people google it the same way.
